A stone’s throw across the Rhône River from Avignon, Hotel De L’Atelier is tucked away in the historic centre of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. Home to the Cardinals during the Avignon papacy, this royal city is dominated by the Hill of Mourgues, which can be accessed along a 10-minute walk that affords magnificent views across the river towards Avignon.

It’s just seven minutes’ drive into the heart of this medieval city and the Gare d’Avignon Centre while the Avignon – Provence Airport is an easy 25 minutes away.

Begin the day with a quintessential Provence breakfast featuring fresh pastries, homemade jams, eggs and fruits, as well as locally made cheeses and yoghurt. A sun-drenched terrace provides the perfect setting to slowly awake with coffee or tea before setting out for the day’s sightseeing or you can dine in the light-filled breakfast room. Hotel De L’Atelier immerses guests in the atmosphere of a typical Provençal village, with time and space to savour the good things in life. Exposed beams and antique furnishings are juxtaposed against refined modern decor and artworks capturing Avignon scenes. Colourful markets and gourmet restaurants are all within a short stroll of this stone-walled retreat, with courtyards draped in greenery and loungers that invite guests to relax.

Each of the 22 traditional rooms is decorated with antique furnishings while air conditioning and TVs come as standard. The en-suite bathrooms offer both showers and tubs (as well as DAMANA® Terre et Soleil toiletries), with tranquil views across the inner courtyard and gardens from the large windows. The small Classic Rooms are ideal for single travellers, with a little extra space for two in the Comfort Rooms and private terraces added in the Superior Rooms.

The Charm Room can accommodate three, making them ideal for those travelling with kids. Additional family-friendly facilities include an indoor play area and a good selection of board games, puzzles, books and DVDs for young guests.

The Hotel De L’Atelier doesn’t offer any wheelchair-accessible rooms but does have parking that’s accessible for people with reduced mobility.

With its open fireplace and deep armchairs, the main lounge is the perfect place to retreat and share stories of the day’s adventures. A smaller library lounge is well stocked with a carefully curated selection of books, maps and guides to help plan your regional explorations.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, with business services and a concierge on request. There’s a dedicated meeting room that’s bathed in natural light and equipped with a projector and TV screens to ensure the smooth running of your gathering.
