Situated within the ancient walls of Avignon, Le Magnan boasts an enviable location on the doorstep of this medieval city’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed landmarks. It’s a short stroll through the maze-like streets to the Palais des Papes, as well as the Pont d’Avignon, the Musée Calvet and the Collection Lambert Avignon.
The Gare d’Avignon Centre is just 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel while the Avignon – Provence Airport is 15 minutes by taxi.
A generous breakfast buffet is served each day in the sun-drenched dining room or can be enjoyed in the garden on warm days. Fresh pastries, homemade jams, cereals and yoghurts are included in the spread, together with eggs, cheeses and an assortment of hot and cold beverages.
Le Magnan’s central location means it’s a short stroll from numerous cafes and restaurants for lunch and dinner, ranging from cheap-and-cheerful to Michelin-star, fine-dining establishments.
Each of the rooms and suites has it’s own aesthetic, ranging from soft pastel tones to rich splashes of colour in both contemporary and vintage styles. The tiled bathrooms are sleek and modern, as is the spacious breakfast room. The leafy garden is planted with Mediterranean species to create a distinctly Provençal setting where guests can enjoy coffee in the morning sun.
Each of the comfortable guest rooms has an en-suite bathroom, satellite TV and complimentary Wi-Fi access, with many also offering garden views. The Single Rooms cater to solo and business travellers while the Standard Double Room is ideal for two, with a little extra space available in the Superior Double. Small groups of friends can opt for the Triple Room, which can be configured as three single beds or a double and one single.
The Family Room can accommodate four or five people, with a main double bedroom and a mezzanine floor featuring three single beds. Children’s television networks ensure young guests are entertained, with complimentary Wi-Fi for streaming their favourite shows and games.
Le Magnan doesn’t offer any accessible rooms for those with limited mobility.
Le Magnan’s reception desk is open from 7 am to midnight for all guest services, including local recommendations, luggage storage and complimentary copies of “La Provence” and “Le Monde” newspapers. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, with an iPad at reception that guests are welcome to use to research attractions and restaurants at their leisure.
